Prince Edward Island, Canada

I've got a bit of a mix again for today... this first card is from another swap with Emma in Canada, she sent me more beautiful postcards from the Prince Edward Island. :)

I've already written about Prince Edward Island so I don't want to repeat myself too much here. This is the description at the back of the card:

Prince Edward Island, once only accessible by ferry, is now just a short drive from the mainland by crossing the Confederation Bridge. Largely a fertile farming land, this small province is also famous for its rich fishing trade, peaceful sandy beaches and colourful history.

Pictured on this card are: Green Gables House (top left corner), Confederation Bridge, Fishing Boat and West Point Lighthouse.

Green Gables is the name of a circa-19th century farm in Cavendish, Prince Edward Island, Canada. It is one of the most notable literary landmarks in Canada. The Green Gables farm and its surroundings are the setting for the popular Anne of Green Gables novels by Lucy Maud Montgomery. The site is also known as Green Gables Heritage Centre. A national historic site, it lies within Prince Edward Island National Park.

The smaller stamps are from a set of 5 definitives issued earlier this year, with the theme 'Canadian Pride'. The big stamp is from a set of 2 stamps also issued earlier this year, depicting sunflowers.
